Why should children learn to swim?

Learning to swim is an important part of every child’s education. Every child will be exposed to water situations, whether it’s swimming pools, lakes, or the creek behind the house. Becoming water-safe is essential for both parents’ and children’s well-being. In addition to water safety, swimming is a great activity for recreation that can be enjoyed by all ages. Every parent would like their child to be able to swim well enough to enjoy the beach, boating trips, pool parties, and other water activities. At some point in their lives, most children will have a need to become safe and competent swimmers. Most experts agree that swimming 300 yards of freestyle is a good measure of swim safety.
